This page lists the current suppliers that are offering MD110 customers services in one form or another. Two basic categories exist, suppliers can be service partners, sales partners or both. These are in our opinion main suppliers both official and unofficial UK suppliers.

Service partners by definition can provide services i.e. maintenance or installation, whilst sales partners are able to handle the sales transcation directly.
All suppliers will be given the opprtunity to produce a specific article on what they can provide. We will also endeavour to focus a spotlight on a different supplier each quarter.
In order to help us give you good and current feedback please rate your supplier experiences and we will average them out into a satisfaction table and publish it here.

ACAD have recently (Feb 2005) sold their Ericsson systems interests to Soneric. Existing staff involved with ACAD that handled the Ericsson MD110 and BP systems and services have transferred over to Soneric. This deal means that the team still remains in the ACAD offices in Watford, it should mean business as usual for the MD110 user.

The deal was the result of a strategic review by ACAD, to focus purely on the network cabling and infrastructure business and they will be looking to increase their sub-contracting activities through organisations like Damovo, and other communication integrators, and resellers, as well as end users.

BT have few of their own resources to offer general service on Ericsson MD110. They have some dedicated staff at large on site MD110 installations where they offer managed services (BAA, Edinburgh DC etc). They have indicated no intention as yet to re-train staff for Ericsson competencies. BT have an agreement to use PNM staff for field service activities.

Still the dominant Ericsson partner with the lion share of UK clients. Have not developed the new Ericsson business over the last few years and have diversified to a multi vendor approach. Have a service national coverage and retains a hign degree of Ericsson MD110 expertise.

From January 2005 DV02 have been granted reseller status for MD110 and Business Phone. They have been successful in building a growing user base of MD110 clients and have a good range of products and services to offer their customers. DV02 offer both new and second user equipment and hold their own stock of equipment.

Specialist supplier of second user MD110 equipment. Offers a high standard of re-furbished equipment from telephone sets up to systems. Run by experienced X-Ericsson management staff who focus specifically on quality and reliability of the service they provide. They have the advantage of knowing the compatability issues and can supply an end user with sufficient comfort the second user option is viable (subject to the clients circumstances).

Updated position....... No longer a sales partner and have no retained skills on MD110 in either sales or service. They have some maintained accounts through Thales who can offer basic field maintenance.
Sales and service partner, although they have little resource in place currently. They use Thales to undertake service on their behalf to a limited Ericsson client base. Based in the South East.

Long established Ericsson service and sales partner. They have concentrated on collecting service business over the last few years and have a reasonable base of both MD110 and some BP accounts. Generally good skills on the MD110 and recent aquisitions of key staff has addressed some of weaknesses. Focused in the main on Ericsson and Captaris Unified messaging platforms. Organisation is service focused with the bulk of staff located in the North West (Cheshire). Provide staff services to Global Crossing and BT.

Telecom Knowledge are Ericsson's certified training partner catering for mainly technical training and end user training. Telecoms Knowledge are based in Clevedon (South of Bristol) where the training headquarters are located. They also have a training facility at Haselmere (having taken over the old Ericsson MD110 training capabilities from Ericsson) where most of the Ericsson related training is available. They are the only current Ericsson certified training partner in the UK.
Although they have contracted trainers for customer activities they remain on the fringe of activities that are associated with the end user. We have seen little evidence of pro-active education programs being offered to the end user. They are focused in the main of completing technical courses for re-sellers.

Thales have a national based field service force that have limited basic skills in maintaining MD110. They describe themselves as level 1 maintenance trained and also provide basic service support for the MD110 systems employed in the old Rail network. Thales have not ventured successfully into the commercial and business sector having too many shortcomings in terms of basic skills and product understanding. Currently provide first line service for the Global Crossing network (old railnet and the government network) and isolated Logicalis clients.
Thales have recently made noises that they are to invest in the Ericsson relationship and enhance their capabilities up to a full partner status, we are yet to see evidence of this (April 2005).

Based in Scotland Soneric have capabilities to support MD110 updates and additions as well as the complete BusinessPhone range. They partner with acad and combined they can provide national coverage. Experienced with MD110 over 6 years. With the recent purchase of the systems business of ACAD (MD110) Soneric have now a mainland UK footprint to provide a full range of services to MD110 customers.

Providing logistical and UK stock of new Ericsson equipment. Provide service to the partners and not the end customers. They have very limited MD110 knowledge today. Based in Warrington with very little direct contact with a customer.

Experienced reseller of MD110 add-ons and provider of dependable services in the North East (Leeds based). More BusinessPhone focused, however, they have capabilities to sell and implement a range of hardware expansions and associated services. Westons have a number of existing MD110 clients they service.
